Lois Hurst resides in central Pennsylvania with her husband John and 3 children ages 16, 19, & 21.( Plus 2 cats and 1 dog, can't forget those!!) in addition to her work as a mom and therapist,she enjoys digging around in the dirt in her little garden, where she tries to attract pollinators.  She also  spends some time helping in the business that her husband owns .(anything to avoid cleaning:) !!)

     
I was inspired to take the journey to learn how to help others with pain management after meeting a CranioSacral Therapist who was able to help my husband John ,to alleviate his headaches,  migraines ,and blackouts.
We had taken the medical route first, the brain scan , the MRI-, just to rule out any tumors, etc. They found seizure activity, but no tumor. Praise God! 
 This CranioSacral Therapist that we met showed me some osteopathic manipulation therapy techniques to use on my husband, in between his three scheduled visits. Almost 20 years later my husband has not had a single blackout , because of using the technique I learned , as soon as he had a headache. Sometimes going up to  a year or more in between treatments! 
(I DO understand that not all blackouts and migraines and seizures  are the same and I NEVER recommend seeing me over seeing your reg physician.)what I am saying is , seizures can be scary, but they don't scare me, but please get your doctors approval before starting treatments! 

    One of the biggest inspirations for my work was my Sister Naomi , who is now 34 years old. She joined our family , when I was only ten years old. Her diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy was the thing that drew  me to learn things to help her be more comfortable. (The CranioSacral Therapist my husband had was originally her Doctor! ) My path  to take the CranioSacral Therapy certification detoured  first through becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. 

 In addition to general massage therapy, I am now taking the majority of my Continuing Education to be as proficient as I possibly can, with Head , Neck & Shoulder issues and pain management and trauma care. 
   Naomi has always been, and will always be , one of my biggest inspiration in my work!! Love you, sis!!
